What is the project about

AgriDex is a blockchain-based digital marketplace that improves agricultural trading by providing a low-cost, instant settlement system with full transparency across the agricultural value chain. The platform addresses key challenges in agriculture, including high remittance fees (typically 3-6% per transaction, up to 10% with FX spread), limited profitability for producers, complex sustainability verification, food fraud, and poor cross-jurisdictional traceability.

Founded by CEO Henry Duckworth, who brings experience from a multigenerational farming background in Africa and a commodities trading role at Trafigure, AgriDex leverages blockchain technology to enhance transparency and efficiency in agricultural transactions. The platform, supported by the Solana Foundation and partnerships with Circle, Stripe’s Bridge, and Bastion, uses smart contracts and USDC to enable near-instant settlement with remittance fees reduced to less than 0.5%. Sustainability credentials are recorded on chain to enhance traceability and ESG transparency. Additionally, on and off ramp integration allows access to stablecoins which provides fair access to financial tools for emerging markets.

What is Agridex Governance Token (AGRI)

The launch of $AGRI token is a key component of AgriDex’s mission to create a more efficient, transparent, and fair agricultural marketplace. The token will help reduce transaction costs, facilitate instant settlements, and encourage community engagement through governance participation. It allows for marketplace integration, enabling users to benefit from lower fees while gaining access to important agricultural data, financing options, and sustainability metrics. The utility of the token at launch are as follows:

1. Governance - Token holders receive rights to governance voting empowering users to propose and vote on platform changes. Those actively involved in the ecosystem gain more governance power, incentivising deeper engagement.
2. Buyback & Redistribute - AgriDex may use profits to buy back tokens and redistribute them to key contributors, rewarding community members who drive the project’s success. This ensures users reap the rewards of AgriDex’s success.

DAO-eligible token holders will vote on the following utilities post-launch:

A. Market Insights - Subscribe monthly to access valuable insights, creating a steady demand for the token while enabling smarter farming decisions. B. Liquidity Pool Rewards - Provide liquidity for loans via liquidity pools in return for a reward C. Impact Farming Fund - Crowdfunding via the $AGRI token allowing retail to collectively invest $AGRI into an "impact farming fund," which pools their tokens to support high-potential farm projects. If the project succeeds, holders receive a share of the returns or special rewards (e.g., token rewards, exclusive merchandise from the farm) in farmland and provide donations to sellers/producers. D. Data-On-Demand - Sellers to commission insights, reports or advertising. E. Environmental and Social Rewards - AgriDex will create a staking mechanism where retail holders can stake $AGRI to earn rewards, but the twist is that part of the staking profits is directed toward environmental or agricultural development projects. Holders get yield, but they also help fund real-world sustainability efforts led by the AgriDex Foundation.

There are 1,000,000,000 AGRI tokens in total supply. At TGE, there will be 75,000,000 AGRI tokens in circulation with the remaining linearly vested.
